The Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club currently counts as its membership around 30 men and women who fervently believe in "Service Above Self."
We meet Tuesdays except the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. (See our meeting schedule on the homepage). The meetings are a mix of camaraderie, business and generally include a guest speaker from the local community. Bring your own coffee & breakfast! Our meetings are free to attend. Special thanks to SUNY Plattsburgh for providing a space for us to meet.
As enjoyable as the weekly get-togethers may be, the most important facet of our membership is community service. Since its inception in 1987, the Club has donated thousands of dollars and hours to local and international causes. For more on our public service efforts, see Who We Help.
Our Connection With the Community
The Sunrise Rotary Club is located in the City of Plattsburgh in Northeastern New York about 60 miles south of Montreal, Quebec. We reside on the western shore of beautiful Lake Champlain and the club's connection with the lake is an important one. The Sunrise Club has been an integral part of The Mayor's Cup Festival — the City of Plattsburgh's largest summer event.

A Place of History, Industry and Outdoor Recreation
Historically, Plattsburgh is known for the victory won in the 1814 Battle of Plattsburgh naval battle which effectively ended the War of 1812. For over 150 years the city was home to an active military base that nurtured a close relationship between the community and the men and women who served in the nation's armed forces.

The closure of Plattsburgh Air Force Base in 1995 brought about a business and industrial rejuvenation in Clinton County with the opening of several transportation related manufacturing plants and feeder businesses. The former Plattsburgh Air Force Base runway and infrastructure now house the Plattsburgh International Airport which has become known as "Montreal's U.S. airport."
The Adirondack State Park with its magnificent Adirondack Mountains is located to the west and southwest of Plattsburgh, offering a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities year-round.
