Karen Dispo-De Boos is a long-time North Country resident who lived in Australia for ten years but returned to the North Country when her husband retired from the Royal Australian Navy in 2013. Karen, her husband, and three sons all live in Plattsburgh with their 2 dogs. She has several years of experience in Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Upon her return to the United States, Karen decided to switch gears and focus her career on the nonprofit sector. Before she joined LVCEF, she was the Deputy Director at the Strand Center for the Arts in Plattsburgh, NY. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master's in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. Karen wholeheartedly advocates for adult learners and their families to build fully literate communities and the unmistakable importance of volunteerism in Adult Education.
